The 40-Hour Hazwoper fulfills your requirements for certification under 29 CFR 1910.120(e)(3)(i) or other applicable state regulations for certification to the 40-hour for emergency response and animal decontamination specialist. OSHA and FEMA require any disaster, emergency responder, animal decontamination specialist that work with contaminated animals to have the 40-Hour Hazwoper training.
Training includes hazard recognition, exposure limits and risk evaluation for chemical and general site safety concerns. You will review the technology and methods available to monitor and detect hazardous materials, learn how to control and contain chemical spills, establish a decontamination process, and select and use worker protective equipment, among a wide variety of other subjects. Included in this training is a full set up and animal decontamination exercise.

Course Description:
24 Hour HAZWOPER Training is designed for hazardous waste and emergency response workers who must satisfy their 24-hour HAZWOPER training requirement.
The standards under 29 CFR Part 1910.120 (e) require employees to complete appropriate HAZWOPER training prior to entering or beginning work on an uncontrolled hazardous site.
This course includes an 8-hour practical animal decontamination exercises working with live animals from service, working and companion animals to livestock. A large animal livestock system is provided for low stress handling. Meets the requirement for FEMA participation of animal decontamination exercise.

This 16-hour course includes an 8-hour online training with an 8-hour practical animal decontamination exercise with live animals. Exercise includes small animals, livestock and human decontamination.
8-Hour online module will be emailed after registration and students will receive link.
When registering, select the date for the “Hands-On” Exercise. This course meets the requirements outlined in FEMA/OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 for 8 hours of annual refresher training.
(Hazwoper) Initial and annual refresher training is required for: employees or volunteers participating in emergency response operations. (Animal Decontamination) Meets the requirement for FEMA participation of animal decontamination exercise.

Handling livestock during stressful situations can be extremely difficult for responders as well as the animal. Think in terms of safety first, safety for you, the animal and anyone else in the area. This training prepares you to immediately apply your knowledge to the field, with hands-on training from experienced instructors focused on the animal response using the latest handling techniques. Livestock should always be approached in a calm, quite way and handled appropriately. Livestock have a great ability to sense fear, therefore handlers should be confident in their actions and always be aware of their ability. This class will build confidence in handlers and provide the necessary skills to handle livestock.
In addition, you will learn front/rear assist and perform a downed animal rescue exercise.
Course
This training prepares you to immediately apply your knowledge in the field from experienced livestock investigators and instructors focused on equine and livestock cruelty investigations. This continuing education course builds confidence in investigators, provides valuable hands on training and necessary skills to handle and investigate livestock.
